This Privacy Policy explains how IpSharkk (“IpSharkk”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and software. By using IpSharkk you agree to this policy.
Who we are
IpSharkk is a desktop application and service that changes your IP address by routing your connection through our network. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Account information: the email address and username you provide when you register.
- Payment information: when you buy Premium, payment is processed by PayPal. We receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status; we do not collect or store your full card details.
- Support information: messages you send us and the contents of our correspondence.
- Technical information: limited data needed to operate and secure the service, such as your device and browser type and the IP address used to connect.
- Network participation data: when you run the free version, connection metadata (such as the timing and volume of traffic and the bandwidth used) that we use to operate the network and to detect and prevent abuse. We do not read or store the contents of the traffic routed through the network.
How we use your information
- To provide and operate the IpSharkk service, the network, and your account.
- To process your subscription and payments through PayPal.
- To provide customer support.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
The network and how your connection is used
When you use the free version, your device becomes part of the IpSharkk network. Internet traffic from other users, Premium users, and our business customers and partners may be routed through your connection, and your IP address may be visible to the websites and services those parties reach. We log limited connection metadata to operate the network, enforce our Acceptable Use Policy, and prevent abuse. The Premium version keeps your own connection out of the network. See our Terms of Service for the license you grant and how to stop participating, and our Acceptable Use Policy.
What we sell and what we do not
We do not sell, rent, or license your personal information, such as your name, email, or account details, as a data product, and we do not use your information to build advertising profiles or serve you targeted third-party advertising. We do sell access to our network’s capacity and bandwidth to business customers and partners. That is a sale of network access, not a sale of your personal information: those customers receive network access and the exit IP addresses they connect through, not your account or personal details.
Sharing your information
We share information only as needed to run the service and the network:
- Service providers: for example PayPal (payment processing) and Google reCAPTCHA (to protect our forms from bots). These providers process data on our behalf.
- Network customers and partners: business customers and partners who purchase access to the network route their traffic through it and connect via the network’s IP addresses. They receive network access, not your account or personal information.
- Legal requirements: where we are required to do so by law or valid legal process.
- Business transfers: if our business or assets are acquired, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Cookies and reCAPTCHA
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, and our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information and sends it to Google for analysis; its use is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK (GDPR/UK GDPR) or in California (CCPA/CPRA), these rights may apply to you, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information; and if you would prefer that your connection not be part of the network, you can opt out at any time by upgrading to the Premium version or by uninstalling the free version.
To exercise your rights, use our Your Privacy Choices page or email [email protected].
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information (and the network traffic you help route) may be processed in the United States and other countries where we, our customers, or our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Children
IpSharkk is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page. Your continued use of IpSharkk after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
